DENVER — The No. 12-ranked MSU Denver volleyball team continued its dominant form Saturday afternoon, sweeping South Dakota Mines 25–23, 25–14, 25–20 at the Auraria Event Center to extend its remarkable run of consecutive sweeps.
With the win, the Roadrunners improved to 19-3 overall and 9-1 in RMAC play, while South Dakota Mines fell to 8-14 overall and 5-5 in the conference.
MSU Denver has now won 10 straight matches — all by sweep — a program record for consecutive matches without dropping a set (30 sets in a row). The Roadrunners also remain unbeaten at home since September 13, when they dropped their last set inside the Auraria Event Center against Ferris State during the Colorado Premier Challenge.
Freshman Brooke Gennerman led the attack with 13 kills on .313 hitting, marking her third straight double-digit kill performance and seventh overall this season.
Annika Helf and Skyler Michael each added 10 kills, while Karyna Werley delivered another strong all-around effort with 19 assists, eight kills, and 12 digs.
The Roadrunners hit an impressive .345 as a team, with Kryssa Moerman contributing eight kills on a .636 percentage, and Alyssa Boyte adding six kills. Mia Accomazzo anchored the back row with 10 digs, as MSU Denver controlled the match from start to finish.
Now riding one of the longest streaks in program history, MSU Denver will look to keep rolling when it travels to Fort Lewis next Friday at 6 p.m. for an RMAC showdown.
