@MSUDenverVB: Gennerman's Historic Performance Lifts No. 11 Roadrunners over Fort Lewis, Extend Winning Streak to 11

DURANGO, Colo. — The No. 11-ranked MSU Denver volleyball team continued its winning ways Friday night, defeating Fort Lewis 3–1 (24–26, 25–19, 25–23, 25–10) on the road to extend its overall winning streak to 11 matches while improving to 20–3 overall and 10–1 in RMAC play.

The win also extended the Roadrunners  lead in the RMAC standings over Fort Lewis, now up two games with one week remaining in the regular season, but it came with a rare moment — the end of MSU Denver's program-record 30-set winning streak, which was snapped when Fort Lewis took the opening frame.

Freshman Brooke Gennerman delivered a historic performance, recording 22 kills on .395 hitting, the most kills by a freshman under head coach Jenny Glenn in her 10 seasons leading the program.

The 22 kills are also the most by a freshman since Bri Morley had 21 in 2008 and the second-most by any Roadrunner this season, trailing only Annika Helf's 30 kills at the Colorado Premier Challenge.

Helf added 13 kills and 17 digs, while Karyna Werley posted a strong all-around effort with 10 kills, 29 assists, and 10 digs.

Kryssa Moerman hit .471 with nine kills and eight blocks, helping MSU Denver control the net. It marked the most blocks for Moerman in a match since she had nine in the regional win over West Texas A&M last December.

The Roadrunners hit .288 as a team and dominated the fourth set, closing out the match with a commanding 25–10 win to secure their 11th straight victory.

Gennerman has now recorded double-digit kills in four consecutive matches, continuing to emerge as one of the RMAC's top young attackers.

MSU Denver will look to keep rolling when it travels to Western Colorado on Saturday at 5 p.m. for another RMAC road matchup.
