DENVER — MSU Denver men's basketball opened its season with an offensive showcase on Sunday afternoon, but despite a strong second half and several standout performances, the Roadrunners fell 107–96 to Texas A&M International at the Auraria Event Center. With the loss, MSU Denver moves to 0–1 overall (0–0 RMAC).
The Roadrunners delivered their most explosive scoring output in nearly two seasons, recording their highest point total since dropping 101 against Arkansas–Fort Smith in the 2023–24 season opener. Five players finished in double figures, led by two career-best performances in the backcourt.
Logan Threatt poured in a career-high 24 points, fueled by a remarkable 12-of-13 effort at the free-throw line. Threatt also chipped in six rebounds and two assists.
Quave Propst-Allison followed closely with a career-high 22 points, attacking the rim with consistency and hitting one of MSU Denver's seven 3-pointers. He also contributed three rebounds and an assist.
Freshman Daniel Thomason made an immediate impact in his collegiate debut, posting a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, becoming a key force on the glass for the Roadrunners.
Garrett Falls added 16 points, while Amare Bethel chipped in 10 off the bench. MSU Denver outscored TAMIU 54–51 after halftime and racked up 19 second-chance points behind a 34–26 rebounding advantage, but the Dustdevils' hot shooting — 59.3% from the field — proved too much to overcome.
MSU Denver returns to action tomorrow at 3 p.m., continuing the home stand against Sul Ross State at the Auraria Event Center.
