DENVER — The No. 1 seed MSU Denver Roadrunners stormed past No. 5 seed Colorado Mesa Mavericks on Friday night, sweeping the Mavericks 25-14, 25-17, 25-16 to advance to the RMAC Tournament Championship match for the 10th consecutive season — every year under head coach Jenny Glenn. MSU Denver improves to 25-3 overall with its 16th straight win, while Mesa ends the night at 17-11.
The victory also marks the Roadrunners' fifth straight RMAC Tournament win, continuing a postseason run that has defined the program's consistency and dominance over the last decade.
All-RMAC outside hitter Annika Helf once again delivered on the big stage, recording her 15th double-double of the season with 14 kills, 11 digs, and a .323 hitting percentage.
Freshman standout Brooke Gennerman continued her postseason surge with 12 kills on .423 hitting, in one of her most efficient outings of the season.
The RMAC Defensive Player of the Year Alyssa Boyte anchored MSU Denver's defense with a dominant performance at the net, accounting for 7 of the Roadrunners' 18 block assists. Her presence contributed to a season-worthy defensive showing that held Mesa to just .111 hitting.
As a team, MSU Denver hit .390 — its third-highest efficiency of the season — and controlled the match from start to finish with strong balance across the court.
With the win, the Roadrunners earn a spot in Saturday's RMAC Tournament Championship, where they will face the winner of Friday's second semifinal between No. 2 seed UCCS and No. 3 seed CSU Pueblo.
MSU Denver has made the conference title match every season since 2016, and on Saturday at 5 p.m., they'll look to raise another championship banner on their home floor.
