TOPEKA, Kan. — MSU Denver dropped its second game of the Washburn Classic on Saturday afternoon, falling 66–44 to host Washburn. The Roadrunners move to 0–4 overall while Washburn improves to 3–1.
MSU Denver struggled to find rhythm offensively, shooting a season-low 27.8% from the field.
Despite the cold night, sophomore guard Mikylah Espinosa delivered her best performance of the season, scoring 15 points to lead the team. She knocked down five field goals and went a perfect 4-for-4 at the line.
Jadyn Watts added 12 points, marking her second straight game in double figures, while also grabbing a team-high six rebounds.
Washburn used a big third quarter to pull away, outscoring MSU Denver 25–7 in the frame. The Ichabods shot 39.1% overall and won the battle on the glass 52–28.
MSU Denver will return to action in their home opener this coming Tuesday against Western New Mexico at 6 p.m. MT.
