GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The MSU Denver roadrunners dropped their series opener on the road against the Colorado Mesa Mavericks by a score of 14-7.
The Roadrunners fall to 29-18 overall and 21-8 in RMAC play.
Andrew Graham recorded the only multi-hit game in the lineup, going 2-for-5 with a pair of runs.
Easton Amundson went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, coming on a sac fly and a double in the eighth.
Senior Tyler Tobey launched a solo homer off the bench after pinch hitting for Royce Vandine.
Nolan Livsey got the start on the mound, and earned the loss. He pitched 3.1 innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits.
SUMMARY
CMU opened the game with four runs in the bottom half of the first for an early 4-0 lead.
It took the Roadrunners another three innings before they got on the board, but tied the game with a four-run frame of their own heading into the bottom of the fourth.
The Mavericks punched back the next half inning with a pair of RBI singles to take a 7-4 lead.
Colorado Mesa put up a six spot in the seventh a few frames later to blow the game open, going up 13-4 on the Roadrunners.
MSU Denver grabbed three runs in the eighth to inch closer, but that would be the final scores of the night for the Roadrunners.
