DENVER -- MSU Denver Roadrunners tennis head coach
Bruno Campos was named Coach of the Year in the west region, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced Monday morning. The men's team was also honored as the west region community service award winners.
Campos closes out the final season for both Roadrunners tennis programs on a high note by earning men's tennis ITA Coach of the Year honors. He led his team to a 12-13 record while going 6-4 in PacWest conference play. Campos also led the women's team to a 13-13 record while going 5-4 in conference play.
Despite the MSU Denver tennis programs set to be disbanded, Campos kept both of his squads competing at a high level in the conference, with both teams holding a winning record in Pacific West match play.
He coached one singles player and one doubles duo who earned All-Conference honors this season.
Lluc Limongi Ollers was named to the All-PacWest second team, serving as the no. 1 singles player for the Roadrunners and carried an 18-8 overall record.
The pairing of
Alessandro Munoz and
Marco Jalalian earned All-PacWest doubles third team honors, going 9-6 overall as a duo, the most wins on the team.
