Natalie Romero keeps Roadrunners in game with solid performance

TYLER, Texas — The MSU Denver Roadrunners dropped a close contest with the No. 1 seed UT-Tyler Patriots by a score of 4-1 Thursday afternoon.

The Roadrunners will now wait to see if they play Oklahoma Christian or Colorado Christian tomorrow. Those two teams play later today, and MSU Denver will play the loser of that game tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 p.m. MT.

Natalie Romero got the start in the circle for MSUD and tossed six innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits while striking out two.

It was a tough day for the Roadrunners at the plate, compiling just one run on three hits.

Alexia Boring, Jenna Medhus, and Lexi Gephart each recorded one hit in the game. Boring had an RBI double in the third inning to score Hannah DiFabio, the lone run for MSU Denver.

Jaiden Geist and Cheyenne Prieto also reached base with walks.

MSU Denver will await to see if they play Oklahoma Christian or Colorado Christian tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 p.m. MT in the elimination bracket.
