@MSUDenverWSOC: Roadrunners Falls 2-0 Against Point Loma

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – MSU Denver women's soccer dropped a 2-0 decision on the road to Point Loma on Thursday evening at PLNU Soccer Field, and now move to 0-2-3 on the young campaign.

The Sea Lions struck twice in the opening 15 minutes, with Kylie Garcia finishing a rebound in the 7th minute and Nikki Ross adding a goal in the 15th. From there, the Roadrunners settled in defensively and kept Point Loma off the scoreboard the rest of the way.

MSU Denver created chances of its own, recording 11 shots and four on goal. Senior Monica Yoder paced the attack with three shots, including two on frame, while Isa Durkin and Jenelle Arenibas also put pressure on the Point Loma goalkeeper. Sami Spring added another shot on goal in the second half. Yoder now leads the team with the four shots on goal through five matches.

Goalkeeper Kayla Caballero finished with four saves, helping the Roadrunners stay within striking distance after the early deficit. She is now 18 saves on the year.

With the result, MSU Denver moved to 0-2-3 overall. The Roadrunners continue their California road trip Sunday with another non-conference matchup, taking on the Cal Poly Pomona Mustangs at 12:30 p.m. MT.
