COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — MSU Denver men's basketball dropped a road contest Saturday afternoon, falling 98–85 to UCCS at the Gallogly Events Center. The Roadrunners move to 5–11 overall and 3–5 in RMAC play, while the Mountain Lions improved to 10–6 on the season.
The game was fast-paced from the opening tip, but UCCS used an explosive first half to seize control. MSU Denver stayed competitive early behind strong interior scoring and transition baskets, yet the Mountain Lions shot efficiently and pushed the tempo to build a 58–42 halftime lead.
The Roadrunners showed resilience after the break, matching UCCS point-for-point for much of the second half. MSU Denver poured in 43 second-half points, consistently attacking the paint and getting to the free-throw line, but every push was answered by timely UCCS shooting and fast-break scoring. Despite several late runs that trimmed the deficit into single digits, the Mountain Lions maintained separation down the stretch to secure the win.
Individually, Logan Threatt led MSU Denver with a team-high 21 points and added four assists, shouldering the offensive load throughout the afternoon. Garrett Falls was nearly as effective, scoring 20 points while finishing strong around the rim and converting at the free-throw line.
In the frontcourt, Brian Unachukwu anchored the defense, leading the Roadrunners with eight rebounds and three blocks, while also contributing key interior stops that helped MSU Denver stay within reach. Quave Propst-Allison added 16 points, providing additional scoring punch and energy on both ends.
MSU Denver finished the game shooting 48.4 percent from the field and scored 46 points in the paint, but UCCS capitalized on transition opportunities and free throws to create the decisive margin.
The Roadrunners will look to bounce back in the win column next week where they will continue RMAC play.
