GOLDEN, Colo. — MSU Denver men's basketball faced a tough road test Saturday afternoon, falling 83–69 to Colorado School of Mines at Lockridge Arena. The Roadrunners move to 6–12 overall and 4–6 in RMAC play following the conference matchup.
Colorado School of Mines controlled the opening half, using efficient shooting and early momentum to build a 51–27 halftime lead. MSU Denver struggled to find rhythm offensively in the first 20 minutes as the Orediggers capitalized in transition and from the perimeter.
The Roadrunners responded with a much improved second half, outscoring Mines 42–32 after the break. MSU Denver pushed the tempo, attacked the paint, and shared the ball more effectively, but the early deficit proved too large to overcome despite the stronger finish.
Garrett Falls led MSU Denver with 14 points, consistently getting to the free-throw line and providing a steady scoring presence. Quave Propst-Allison finished with 12 points, knocking down three of four attempts from beyond the arc, while helping stretch the floor offensively.
Adam "Ace" Hackett added 12 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, anchoring the Roadrunners on the glass and providing energy in the paint. Freshman Daniel Thomason also contributed inside, giving MSU Denver quality minutes off the bench.
While MSU Denver showed resilience and offensive improvement in the second half, Mines' first-half surge set the tone as the Roadrunners continue RMAC play next week looking to build on the positive momentum from the final 20 minutes.
