@MSUDenverWSOC: Roadrunners Fall to Colorado School of Mines 6-0

GOLDEN, Colo. — MSU Denver women's soccer fell 6-0 to Colorado School of Mines on Sunday afternoon at Stermole Soccer Stadium.

The Roadrunners dropped to 2-6-4 overall and 1-4-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play, while Mines improved to 7-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference action.

Mines opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Caelan DeBolt finished a through ball from Bella Campos to give the Orediggers a 1-0 advantage. MSU Denver entered halftime trailing by just one goal after being outshot 4-3 in the opening 45 minutes.

Annelise Rojo doubled the Orediggers' lead just 55 seconds into the second half, heading home a cross from Lindsay Jeans. Campos then scored twice in a span of just over three minutes, pushing the Mines advantage to 4-0 by the 52nd minute

Bella Torres added another goal in the 57th minute before Molly Elder capped the scoring in the 83rd minute.

Mines finished the match with a 25-5 advantage in shots and held a 13-1 edge in shots on goal. The Orediggers also earned eight corner kicks compared with one for the Roadrunners.

Maya Woods led MSU Denver with two shots, while Grace Johnson, Caitlin McCauley and Addison Mandeville each recorded one. Mandeville registered the Roadrunners' lone shot on goal, forcing a save from Mines goalkeeper Keira Garcia in the 71st minute.

Morgan Shirley started in goal and made five saves in 56:20 of action. Kiley Hyde played the final 33:40 and stopped five shots as well, giving the Roadrunners 10 saves collectively.

The Roadrunners return to action on Friday, Oct. 9, when they host Regis at the Assembly Athletic Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
