DENVER – A total of 99 Metropolitan State University of Denver student-athletes have earned the Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award, the organization announced Wednesday morning.
The annual award recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes across NCAA Division II. To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, complete a minimum of two years or four semesters of college-level work at a two-year and/or four-year institution, and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during the most recent academic year.
MSU Denver's 99 honorees represented 10 Roadrunner programs, with student-athletes from baseball, men's and women's basketball, women's golf, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field, men's and women's soccer, softball and women's volleyball earning recognition.
The Roadrunners were led by 12 honorees from the baseball program, while men's soccer had 10 student-athletes recognized. Women's volleyball also had 11 award winners, including multiple student-athletes who posted perfect 4.0 cumulative GPAs.
Across the Roadrunner roster, 14 student-athletes earned the award with a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA, highlighting MSU Denver's commitment to excellence both in competition and in the classroom.
The women's track and field programs also saw strong representation, with eight student-athletes recognized in both indoor and outdoor track and field, while seven Roadrunners from the men's track and field programs earned the honor in each season.
The D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award adds to another strong year of academic recognition for MSU Denver Athletics and its student-athletes, celebrating those who have excelled in the classroom while continuing to represent the Roadrunners in NCAA Division II competition.

Men's Cross Country/Track & Field: Johnathan Duran, Darren Hayden, Cian Nagle, Rayen Ben-Khaled, Aden Guenther, Sean Pecenka, Brandon Simpson and Jacob Simpson.
Women's Cross Country/Track & Field: Abigail Read, Payton Rusk, Ellie Shaw, Paige Tack, Aaliyah Chavez, Jessica Hobson, Jaelyn Korbe and Breauna Sorensen.
