Sinclair Leads Metro State Past Adams State

The Metro State women's basketball team (2-5, 1-0 RMAC) opened Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play with a 52-45 victory over Adams State, Friday night in Alamosa, Colo.

The 'Runners used two three pointers from freshman Sharaya Selsor to race out to a 12-6 advantage, but the Grizzlies scored nine of the next 11 points to take the lead 15-14. Two three pointers from Kiley Gill helped Metro State push the lead back to seven at 24-17. From there the teams would trade points, with the 'Runners enterting the locker room ahead 33-28.

MSCD opened the second half by increasing the lead to 14 points at 44-30. Adams State closed to within four points with a minute remaining, but could not make a shot to get any closer.

Megan Sinclair led the 'Runners with a season high 19 points, followed by Rae Bean with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The 'Runners travel to Durango to face Fort Lewis, Saturday at 6 p.m.
