Roadrunners Rout Regis

The No. 14 Metro State women's soccer team defeated crosstown rival Regis, 6-0, Sunday in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play in Denver, Colo. The victory improved MSCD to 6-1-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the RMAC, tied for first with Colorado School of Mines.

The 'Runners wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as junior Becca Mays scored just 45 second into the game on an assist from Gabby Klipp. Mays added a second goal 15 minutes later on assists from Courtney Ryan and Jen Thomas. Mays then assisted on a goal to Madison McQuilliams to give the 'Runners a 3-0 lead. Jaimie Stephenson scored back to back goals in the 80th minute to give the 'Runners the 6-0 victory.

Metro State had more shots on goal, 11-5 and more total shots 18-11 in the contest. Becca Maloney had five saves for the 'Runners, posting her fifth shutout of the season.

The 'Runners host Carson-Newman College, Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
