GOLDEN, Colo. - Sharaya Selsor led Metro State with 14 points, but the Roadrunners dropped their second straight road game, 62-56, at Colorado School of Mines.
The Roadrunners held a 32-29 advantage at the break after hitting 47 percent from the field in the first stanza. Poor second-half shooting (32 percent) plagued Metro State as the Orediggers pulled away for their ninth conference win of the season.
Despite trailing most of the second half, Metro State managed to pull within four on two occasions in the final minutes. Selsor connected on a three-pointer with 1:20 remaining to trim the Colorado Mines lead to 58-54, and Megan Sinclair hit a pair of free throws to pull the Roadruners within 60-56 on the next possession. The Orediggers held on for the victory by hitting 4-of-6 free throws down the stretch.
Sinclair posted 13 points for the Roadrunners, followed by Rae Bean with 12. Brecca Gaffney had a game-high 17 points for the Orediggers.
Metro State slipped to 8-11 overall and 6-5 in the RMAC, while Colorado Mines improved to 12-7 and 9-2.
The Roadrunners host Chadron State Feb. 6, the first of a four-game home stand. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
