Metro State will play at Regis on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and then host its first RMAC game of the season as Fort Lewis comes in on Sunday for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff. Sunday's game is Metro State's 2009 Homecoming.

Scouting the Opponent:
Regis: The Rangers enter Friday with a record of 3-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the RMAC. Last weekend they knocked off No. 24 Colorado State-Pueblo 2-1 and tied UC-Colorado Springs 1-1. Kyle Emge (6-2, F, So.) is Regis' leading scorer with three goals and one assist for seven points. Nathan Kafer (5-7, F, Jr.) has two goals and two assists, and Lucas Mazier (5-7, MF, Fr.), Jordan Brandel (5-7, MF, So.) and Lio DelPiccolo (5-9, MF/F, Fr.) each have two goals. Wally Fink (5-9, GK, Sr.) has a 0.96 GAA and .647 save percentage. The Rangers have outshot their opponents 101-75, but outscored them just 12-11.

Fort Lewis: The Skyhawks enter the weekend 5-1-0 overall and 2-0 in the RMAC. Their lone loss came on the road at No. 9 Incarnate Word (Texas) by a score of 2-1. In FLC's past two games, it defeated Colorado Christian 6-0 and No. 9 Colorado Mines 4-0. Euan Purcell leads the team with nine goals and two assists for 20 points. Tom Settle and David Barden each have three goals and five others have scored twice. Sam Morris has four assists and one goal. Zane Wells has posted a 0.69 GAA and .714 save percentage with three shutouts. The Skyhawks have outshot their opponents 152-28 and outscored them 28-4.

All-Time Series Records:
Regis: The two Denver schools have been nearly even, with Metro State holding a 21-20-5 edge all-time. Regis leads the series 12-10-3 in games played at Regis. Metro State is 8-1-2 in the past 11 games in the series.

Fort Lewis: Fort Lewis leads the all-time series 24-14-3, including 10-6-2 in games played in Denver. The two squads met up four times last season and tied the first time, before FLC ran off three straight wins. Metro State won both games in 2007 to end an eight-game losing streak in the series.

Roadrunners Update:
Metro State is coming off a 2-0 weekend after winning on the road 3-0 against UC-Colorado Springs and 2-1 in overtime against Colorado State-Pueblo. Pat Laughlin (Scottsdale, Ariz./Brophy College Prep) scored his first two career goals, the first coming as the first goal of the game against UCCS on Friday. His second came against CSU-Pueblo. Steven Emory (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins H.S.) netted two goals against UCCS and Mike Martinez (Thornton, Colo./Horizon H.S.) scored the winner in overtime against CSU-Pueblo. Dominique Griffith (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill H.S.) continued solid play in goal, posting his second shutout of the season on Friday. In the two games, he made six saves.

RMAC Player of the Week:
Dominique Griffith (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill H.S.) was named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 1 after he made five saves in his first career game in Metro State's 2-0 win over the University of Mary (N.D.) on Saturday at Auraria Field. He became the first Metro State goalkeeper to earn a shutout in his Roadrunner debut since Zac Loescher on Sept. 2, 1996, in a 3-0 win over Colorado State-Pueblo.

Long Road Trip:
The Roadrunners opened the season at home, but are in the middle of a seven-game road trip away from Auraria Field. It will tie the school record for most consecutive games played away from home. Metro State played seven consecutive neutral site or away games in 2006 from Sept. 29 through Oct. 15. Metro State posted a 5-1-1 record during that road trip.

Season Openers:
Metro State has now won nine of its past 10 season opening games, including three straight after the 2-0 win over Mary (N.D.) on Aug. 29.. Last season the Roadrunners opened with a 3-0 win over St. Martin's (Wash.). The only loss since 2000 came as a 3-2 overtime loss in 2006 at home against Midwestern State (Texas).

In the Rankings:
The Roadrunners opened the season ranked 21st in the preseason NSCAA top-25 poll and jumped to No. 13 in the Sept. 1 poll. Last week, they were ranked No. 20. However, after splitting two road games, Metro State dropped out of last week's rankings and received votes this week.
