Ngoc Phan (Lone Tree, Colo./Cherry Creek H.S.) led Metro State with 10 digs.
Concordia seemed to have a defender in the right spot all evening, forcing Metro State into 24 attack errors and blocking six attempts. CU also had 51 digs on the evening, frequently getting a hand on Metro State's attack attempts to allow and easier dig for the back row.
The Golden Bears dominated the first two sets, hitting .406 (16-3-32) in the first set and .200 (11-4-35) in the second, while keeping Metro State under .000 in each. The Roadrunners held with CU early in the third set, as the Golden Bears made five unforced errors to be tied 11-11. But Concordia scored the next seven points to take control again.
Metro State is now 1-11, including 1-4 at home, all-time when facing the top-ranked team in Division II with its lone win coming 3-1 against West Texas A&M when the Lady Buffs were atop the rankings on Sept. 6, 2002.
Metro State will face Northwest Nazarene (Idaho) at noon on Saturday at the Auraria Event Center in the silver division of the Premier.
