DENVER -
No. 24 Metro State's Steven Emory (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins H.S.) broke the school record for consecutive games with at least one point in the team's 4-0 victory over Colorado Christian at home on Sunday.  It was the final regular season home game this year.  The Roadrunners improved to 10-5-2 overall and 7-4-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CCU fell to 1-15-0 and 1-11-0 in the RMAC.

Emory scored two goals and an assist on Sunday, the eighth consecutive game he has had at least one point.  The previous record of seven was set by Kellen Johnson in 2008.

With the team's 10th win this season, it is the eighth straight year the Roadrunners have reached 10+ wins.  Head Coach Ken Parsons, who has guided the Roadrunners during the past seven years of that streak, has a career record of 90-40-16.

Metro State had numerous oppportunities on Sunday as it outshot CCU 34-5.  Cougars goalkeeper Jared Jacobs stopped nine shots, including several spectacular saves in one-touch crosses and breakaways.

Kevin Pocalyko (Longmont, Colo./Longmont H.S.) got the Roadrunners on the board in the 14th minute as he scored off Marc Herschberger (Westminster, Colo./Northglenn H.S.)'s rebound after Herschberger's shot from the close right win was initially saved.

Emory scored his 12th goal of the season seven minutes later on a blast from the top of the box as he put in Scott Grode (Gilbert, Ariz./Basha H.S.)'s rebound after his shot was deflected.

Freshman Rudy Mendoza (Santa Ana, Calif./Santa Ana H.S.) pushed the score to 3-0 in the 31st minute with his first career goal.  Emory crossed the ball from the left side and Mendoza finished with one touch from the center of the box, around a defender and Jacobs.

Play relaxed after halftime, but Emory scored again in the 73rd minute after a give-and-go with Walter Bertini (Boulder, Colo./Boulder H.S.) up the right sideline.

Issa Bissau (Denver, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) made two saves in the goal for his eighth shutout of the year.

Emory now has 13 goals and 10 assists this season, marking just the fourth time in school history a player has reached double digits in each category in one season.  His 36 points are the ninth-most in a single season.
