Freshman
Becca Medina (Denver, Colo./Heritage H.S.) stunned CSM with a blast from 35 yards out in the center of the field as she put the shot into the top of the net, scoring the 27th minute for the first score. That score remained the only one in the first half, though Metro State outshot CSM 8-5 in the first.
Taylor Nicholls (Littleton, Colo./Heritage H.S.) played a through ball from
Ashley Nemmers (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.) in the 59th minute and beat goalkeeper Briana Schulze by chipping it over her as the Roadrunners took a 2-0 lead.
Aubrey Fondy (Arvada, Colo./Faith Christian H.S.) scored her first goal as a Roadrunner 15 minutes later as Nemmers found her on the right side, allowing Fondy to dribble in with a clear path to Schulze.
Goalkeeper
Alee Seehausen (Mesa, Ariz./Mountain View H.S.) made six saves for the shutout victory in goal. She made a diving stop to keep CSM off the board in the 78th minute when Anna Evans ripped a shot from the top of the box.
Nemmers recorded the first multi-assist game of her career.
The Roadrunners held a 14-11 shot advantage in the game, though the shots on goal were even at six apiece.
Metro State will host Colorado Christian at noon on Sunday.
