DENVER –
Metro State scored two late goals to snap a two-game winless streak and top Regis 2-1 at home on Wednesday.  The Roadrunners improved to 10-2-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while the Rangers fell to 9-4-0 and 6-3-0.

The win marks Metro State's 10th straight season with 10 or more wins.

After Metro State controlled play for the first 20 minutes, Regis took over and held possession for the next 50.  Chelsea Bokan finally capitalized for the Rangers at 68:29 for the 1-0 lead.  With her back to the net, she took a pass in front of the net from Meghan Stuart, turned to her right and fired a shot over Metro State goalkeeper Danielle Quigley (Arvada, Colo./Arvada West H.S.).

Karisa Price (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland H.S.) was fouled in the box just a minute later, but her penalty kick was saved by a diving Nicole Eddings, leaving the Rangers with a 1-0 lead.  However, Metro State earned a corner kick on the play and Hayley Marsh (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield H.S.)'s ensuing kick hit off Regis forward Marissa Davis and deflected into the goal to tie the game for the Roadrunners at 68:48.

Six minutes later, Price set up Aubrey Fondy (Arvada, Colo./Faith Christian H.S.) for a breakaway and Fondy beat Eddings 1-on-1 as Metro State took a 2-1 lead.

Neither team had scoring opportunities after that as Metro State turned on its prevent defense.

Quigley made four saves for the Roadrunners in net and Eddings stopped three shots.

Metro State was outshot for just the third time this season, 16-11.

The Roadrunners will travel to Colorado State-Pueblo for a 7 p.m. game on Friday.
