Women's soccer: MSU scores four second-half goals and extends shutout streak

Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. - No. 16 Metro State scored four second-half goals to break a scoreless halftime score, winning 4-0 at Colorado State-Pueblo to extend its shutout streak to 432 minutes. The Roadrunners improved to 8-2-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference this season, while CSUP fell to 1-8-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the RMAC. It was also MSU's fifth straight win.

After going scoreless for 60 minutes, Becca Medina (Denver, Colo./Heritage H.S.) entered the scoring column at 60:24, starting a flurry of three goals in a seven-minute span. Her penalty kick goal came after a foul in the box.

Less than a minute later, Brandi Farley (Colorado Springs/Pine Creek H.S.) scored at 61:07, after a ball was misplayed by the ThunderWolves to Kelci Newlin (Parker, Colo./Ponderosa H.S.), who found Farley for the goal.

At 66:37 the Roadrunners pushed the lead to 3-0 as Abby Rolph (Golden, Colo./Golden H.S.)'s corner kick bent into the net for her second goal this season.

Aubrey Fondy (Arvada, Colo./Faith Christian H.S.) got into the scoring column at 78:30 with her first goal of the season, as Nicole Pollack (Englewood, Colo./Englewood H.S.) played a ball over the top into the box for Fondy.

Jordan Simkins (Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman H.S.) made four saves and has played all 432 minutes during the shutout streak.

MSU outshot CSUP 21-14 in the game.

Metro will play at Regis on Sunday at 1 p.m.
