Women's soccer: Price, Pollack score in second half in 2-1 win at SEU

Box Score AUSTIN, Texas - Metro State scored twice to rally from a 1-0 halftime deficit to upset No. 18 St. Edward's (Texas) 2-1 in Austin, Texas, on Sunday afternoon to advance to the South Central region championship game at the Division II NCAA tournament. No. 3 seed Metro State will host No. 4 seed Colorado Mines at 11 a.m. on Friday in the regional championship at Auraria Field.

The No. 2 seed St. Edward's fell to 18-3-0 on the season, while MSU improved to 15-5-2. It was the first time since 2009 that the Roadrunners won a game when trailing at halftime.

Mikayla Engel put the host Hilltoppers ahead 1-0 at 37:03, scoring a header off Valencia Mobley's corner kick for SEU's only goal.

After a relatively even first half, it was all Metro State in the second half as the Roadrunners controlled the pace of play and possession. They outshot SEU 5-2 in the second half and had all six of their corner kicks in the second half, while allowing just one. Two of those corner led to goals.

Karisa Price (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland H.S.) tied the game less than five minutes into the second half, heading in Abby Rolph (Golden, Colo./Golden H.S.)'s corner from the far post.

The game remained tied until Nicole Pollack (Englewood, Colo./Englewood H.S.) got her head on Rolph's corner kick at 81:52 from the center of the box, pushing it past the goalkeeper for the game-winner.

Jordan Simkins (Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman H.S.) made one save in the game to earn the win.

The two assists gave Rolph her first career multi-assist game.
