LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Metro State won its third consecutive game behind five points from Karisa Price (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland H.S.) as the visiting Roadrunners cruised to a 4-0 victory at Colorado Christian on Sunday. MSU Denver improved to 7-0-3 overall and 5-0-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CCU fell to 4-6-0 and 1-5-0 in the RMAC.
Price scored two goals and had an assist for five points. It was her sixth career multi-goal game and second this season. Price also led the team with five shot attempts on Sunday as the Roadrunners held a 17-3 advantage in that category.
Brandi Farley (Colorado Springs/Pine Creek H.S.) got the Roadrunners on the scoreboard at 17:29 after Brittany Cito (Littleton, Colo./Dakota Ridge H.S.) and Abby Rolph (Golden, Colo./Golden H.S.) set her up with a 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper.
Price scored just five minutes later on a header of a cross from Jordan Post (Spearfish, S.D./Spearfish H.S.).
Metro State struck twice in the first six minutes of the second half. Price earned an assist on Nicole Pollack (Englewood, Colo./Englewood H.S.)'s blast from 25 yards out at 48:28.
Just two minutes later, Price put the final tally on the scoreboard from MSU Denver, shooting from 15 yards out after a pass from Alexie Marr (Longmont, Colo./Longmont H.S.).
Karisa Fernandez (Westminster, Colo./Standley Lake H.S.) earned the win in goal, making two saves and playing 68:08.
EDIT: In a scoring change, Price finished with six points. The assist originally credited to Cito was correctly change to Price on Farley's goal.
Metro State will play at Regis at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
