Box Score GOLDEN, Colo. - Emma Cannis scored 1:26 into overtime as No. 24 Fort Lewis edged Metro State 1-0 on Friday night in Golden, Colo., in the semifinals of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Roadrunners fell to 12-4-3 overall, while FLC improved to 16-4-0 and will face No. 2 Colorado Mines in the championship on Sunday.
Cannis took a low shot from the top-left corner of the box and the low shot got through the goalkeeper's hands and rolled into the net.
The Skyhawks controlled play for much of the game, outshooting Metro State 14-8, including 7-1 in shots on goal.
Karisa Fernandez (Westminster, Colo./Standley Lake H.S.) played excellent in goal, making six saves, including several very difficult stops.
