Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS - A shorthanded Metro State women's basketball team fell 62-43 at UC-Colorado Springs on Saturday. The Roadrunners fell to 13-13 overall and 12-10 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while UCCS improved to 14-12 and 13-9 in the RMAC.
The Roadrunners lost two starters to head injuries and struggled the rest of the game against a physical Mountain Lions team. They shot just 27.3 percent in the game and were outrebounded 44-to-36.
Cassie Lambrecht (Colorado Springs/Golden H.S.) and
Fawn Brady (Grand Junction, Colo./Grand Junction H.S.) led Metro State with nine points each.
Amy Nelson (Richmond, Utah/Sky View H.S.) and
Kaysha Fox (Tacoma, Wash./Woodrow Wilson H.S.) each had six.
Metro State shot 17.4 percent in the first half and tied a school record for the fewest points scored in a half, trailing 25-11 at the break.
The Roadrunners were unable to recover in the second half that saw a lengthy delay for paramedics to attend to one of the players.
Metro State will begin the RMAC Shootout on Tuesday at a site to be determined.
