Tennis: MSU Denver Open Season Against Abilene Christian

Roadrunners fell to Abilene Christian

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's tennis team fell to Abilene Christian 6-1.
 
Freshman Joey Tscherne (Sylmar, Calif./John F. Kennedy H.S.) led the Roadrunners at No. 2 singles spot with the only victory over Abilene Christian's Nico Agritelley.  Tscherne, also named to the preseason all-RMAC team, won the match 6-4, 6-3.  
 
MSU Denver competed in a number of close matches including the number No. 1 singles position, Josh Graetz (Albury, Australia/The Scots School) and the No. 4 singles position, Porter Emery (Casper, Wyo./San Joaquin H.S. (Calif.)).  Graetz lost in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-1.  Emery lost a close match with the score of 6-3, 6-4.
 
The Roadrunners will be back in action Sunday, February 28 when they travel to Colorado Springs to face Colorado College.
