Denver – The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's and women's tennis teams were both defeated in two separate matches on Saturday.

The men's team was defeated 5-2 at Air Force.  The Roadrunners were able to pick up a victory with the doubles point.  The team of Brandon Nachbar (Colorado Springs, Colo./Discovery Canyon Campus) and Joey Tscherne (Sylmar, Calif./John F. Kennedy H.S.) as well as the team of Porter Emery (Casper, Wyo./San Joaquin H.S. (Calif.)) and Parker Jones (Ogden, Utah/Bonneville H.S.) each notched wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles position.  Nachbar and Tscherne won 7-5 while Emery and Jones won 7-6 (3).  Emery also won his No. 3 singles match by a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The women's team fell 6-1 at Colorado State.  Courtney Wright (Houston, Texas/Memorial H.S.) was the only Roadrunner to pick up a win.  Wright won her No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-2.

"Both teams are beginning to come together," said head coach Daniel Hangstefer.  "The men's team put themselves into good positions, but could not pick up the win.  For the women, Courtney is playing very well right now."

MSU Denver will travel to Colorado College on February 28.  Both the men's and women's teams are scheduled to play at noon in Colorado Springs, Colo.
