Pueblo, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's and women's tennis teams each won their third place matches over CSU-Pueblo on Saturday, April 23 at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament.
 
The men's team got off to a great start to the day winning all three of their doubles matches, including wins for the departing senior Porter Emery (Casper, Wyo./San Joaquin H.S. (Calif.)) who won alongside Kennan Kaltenbacher 8-4. It only took two matches of singles play for the Roadrunners to secure the 5-0  win over the Thunderwolves after sophomore Brandon Nachbar (Colorado Springs, Colo./Discovery Canyon Campus) and Sam Stember (Melbourne, Fla./Satellite H.S.) both won their matches.
 
The women would follow the men's lead in the later third place match also winning 5-0. Sophomore Courtney Wright (Houston, Texas/Memorial H.S.) concluded an excellent season by winning her No. 1 singles match (6-0, 6-0) and winning No. 1 doubles alongside sophomore Emily Kerr (Winchester, England/Peter Symonds College) 8-5.
 
With a majority of their top players returning next season, MSU Denver has a lot to look forward too on both the men's and women's teams next season.
