Colorado Springs, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's tennis team competed in its first competition of the 2017 season against Abilene Christian in an exhibition match.
MSU Denver fell 3-0 in the doubles matches.
Josh Graetz (Albury, Australia/The Scots School) and Josh Tscherne fell 6-4.
Calum Hayes (Leeds, England/Guiseley H.S.) and
Sam Stember (Melbourne, Fla./Satellite H.S.) fell 6-4 as well.
Alejandro Martinez-Morilla (Madrid, Spain/I.E. Valdecas) and
Keenan Kaltenbacher (Colorado Springs, Colo./The Classical Academy) fell 6-0.
In the singles matches Graetz fell 6-3, 6-3. Tscherne fell in his singles match 6-4, 6-4. Martinez- Morilla won his singles match 6-3, 6-3. Stember fell 6-4, 6-4. Kaltenbacher lost his match 6-1, 6-3 and Hayes fell in a close battle 7-5, 6-3.
The Roadrunners return to 2017 action February 18 against Southern Utah.
