Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's basketball (4-6, 3-1) team earned a 79-67 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference win over Chadron State (3-7, 1-3 RMAC) on Saturday, December 9.

MSU Denver jumped out to an early 7-2 lead over Chadron, but two back-to-back threes from the Eagles would steal the lead heading into the first media timeout at 8-7.

Sophomore Allec Williams (Albany, Ga./Westover High School) gave the Roadrunners a spark, burying one from downtown to take the lead back for the Roadrunners.  The team would then show up big on the defensive side with two steals leading to two explosive dunks to finish an 8-0 run.  A three from senior Kyle Lawson (Tustin, Calif./Foothill H.S.) and yet another dunk from Williams would extend the run to 13-2 and give MSU Denver a 20-10 lead with just under under 12 to play in the half.

The Roadrunners were able to maintain a solid lead over the Eagles for the remainder of the half leading by as many as 11.  MSU Denver lead Chadron 35-27 at half.

The Eagles would continue to fight, going on a 7-0 run lasting just over a minute to cut the Roadrunners lead back to seven at 61-54 with 6:33 remaining in the game.  A jumper from senior Peter Møller (Værløse, Denmark/Falkonergårdens Gymnasium) would end the run.  Cameron Williams (Omaha, Nebraska/Omaha South H.S.) then earned two free throws from an Eagles flagrant foul to take back a nine-point lead.
