Pueblo, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's and women's tennis teams competed in two matches at the Pueblo Duals on Friday, September 15.  The men defeated Emporia State in its first match of the day 6-3.  The women defeated Fort Hays in its first match 7-2. In the second match of the day the men fell 5-2 to Texas- Permian Basin while the women took their second win of the day defeated the Falcons 7-2.
 
In the first match of the day on the men's side the Roadrunners defeated Emporia State 6-3.  In doubles the Roadrunners took two of the three matches.

2. Martinez-Morilla/Lloerente (MSUD) def. Cameron/Mota (ESU): 9-8(6)
3. Levanorah/Gortzanian (ESU) def. Kaltenbacher/Hayes (MSUD) :8-4

 
The Roadrunners took four of the six singles matches.

4. Llorente (MSUD) def. Mathas (ESU): 6-4, 6-7 (6)
5. Kaltenbacher (MSUD) def. Mota (ESU): 7-5, 7-6(4)
6. Hayes. (MSUD) def. Cameron (ESU): 6-4, 6-3

 
In the women's first match of the day the Roadrunners defeated Fort Hays state 7-2. The Roadrunners swept the doubles matches against the Tigers.

Both teams took on University of Texas- Permian Basin in the second match of the day,
 
Against Texas-Permian Basin the men fell 5-4.  In the doubles matches the Roadrunners took two of the three.

On the womens side, MSU Denver defeated Texas Permian-Basin 7-2. In doubles the Roadrunners took two of the three matches against the Falcons.

The Roadrunners nearly swept the Falcons in singles matches taking five of the six.

 Both teams will wrap up the weeked tomorrow, Saturday, September 16 against Newman University at 8 a.m. in Pueblo.
