Austin, Texas- Metropolitan State University of Denver men's tennis senior Calum Hayes was named to the Division II Google Cloud Academic All-America® At-Large second team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Wednesday morning.
The Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.
The at-large program for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo for both men and women; bowling, crew and field hockey for women; and volleyball and wrestling for men.
Hayes maintained a 3.99 GPA over his four years at MSU Denver while majoring in finance. The senior competed in over 100 matches for the Roadrunners, was a four time all-conference honoree, and was named 2015 freshman of the year. This season he was named first team RMAC all-academic and also earned the 2018 RMAC Summit Award.
