DENVER – The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's and women's tennis teams will each play four matches within a three-day stretch, including three in Texas and one in Oklahoma.
"This week is a great opportunity to see where we're at against the top teams in the region," MSU Denver coach
Josh Graetz (Albury, Australia/The Scots School) said. "I know both teams are focused on the task at hand and that we'll come out with the right energy."
The MSU Denver men (2-3) will play three consecutive matches in Wichita Falls, Texas, starting with 5-3 St. Edward's (Texas) on Thursday at 9 a.m. MST, which will be followed by back-to-back Friday matches against Southern Arkansas and host Midwestern State (Texas) slated for 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively. The MSU Denver men will conclude their road trip at Cameron (Okla.) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Roadrunners are ranked fifth in the South Central Region, which were released in January. St. Edward's is ranked second in the region, while Midwestern State is No. 1 in the region and No. 17 nationally. Cameron was third in the region, but was ranked No. 24 nationally in the February ratings.
The women (5-4) play a pair of Friday matches against Angelo State (7-2) at 8 a.m. and MSU (Texas) at 2 p.m. in Wichita Falls, Texas. The MSU Denver women then travel to Cameron (Okla.) for a 2 p.m. Saturday showdown and cap off their road trip with a return to Wichita Falls, Texas, to face Southern Arkansas at 7 a.m. on Sunday.
Like the men, MSU Denver's women are ranked fifth in the region. Angelo State is eighth in the region, Midwestern State is second in the region and 14
th nationally, and Cameron is third in the region.
MSU Denver's men split their last two contests, a 6-1 loss to Western New Mexico on Feb. 17 in St. George, Utah, and a 5-2 triumph at Colorado Mesa on Thursday.

Joey Tscherne (Sylmar, Calif./John F. Kennedy) and junior
Mateo Besada (Buenos Aires, Argentina/SEADEA) were undefeated in both singles and doubles against the Mavericks.
Tscherne and Besada later teamed up for No. 1 doubles and gutted out a 7-6 (3) win.
The Roadrunners' women have gone 3-2 during their spring schedule, recently suffering a 7-0 defeat at Air Force on Sunday, preceded by a 5-2 victory on the road at Colorado Mesa on Thursday.
