DENVER – Professional tennis is coming to the Regency Athletic Complex.

Metropolitan State University of Denver will host an International Tennis Federation women's professional tournament from June 17 through June 23.

The 5280 Open is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour and the USTA Competitive Pathway, and it provides the community with a fun and exciting event that will help provide an avenue for aspiring and established professionals to compete on the world's biggest stages on the WTA tour.

The tournament offers $25,000 in prize money.

The wild-card event will also provide an opportunity for local juniors and collegiate players to compete at the elite level.    

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the MSU Denver tennis program.
