DENVER – Dr. Anthony Grant, director of athletics at MSU Denver, has announced the promotions of two members of the department's staff.

Jerrid Oates has been promoted to associate director of athletics for facilities operations and game management, while Stephanie Begley has been promoted to assistant athletic director for sports performance.

"Both Jerrid and Steph have made significant contributions to the success of our coaches and student-athletes," Grant said. "The elevation of these positions serve as a reflection of the leadership they demonstrate not only within their respective areas, but throughout the athletics department as a whole."

Oates has been the assistant director of athletics for facilities operations since 2017 after previously coaching the Roadrunners baseball team for six seasons.

Oates earned his bachelor's degree in sports management from Nebraska Wesleyan in 2001 before going on to earn his master's in health and human performance (emphasis in administration) from Fort Hays State in 2003.

Begley has been Metropolitan State University of Denver's head athletic trainer for the past eight years. She came to MSU Denver from Colorado School of Mines, where she was an assistant athletic trainer from 2007-2011.

At MSU Denver, she oversees the entire athletic training staff including strength and conditioning, and serves as the athletic trainer for volleyball and basketball.
 
Begley completed her undergraduate degree in athletic training from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa in 2005. During her time at Loras, Begley played basketball for the Duhawks and was a three-time Dean's List selection from 2003-05. Begley also earned a master's degree in sports psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2007.
