@MSUDenverTennis: Graetz Signs Class of 5 for the Fall

Class includes two men, three women

DENVER – MSU Denver men's and women's tennis coach Josh Graetz has announced a recruiting class of five which will join the program this fall.

The list includes three women and two men.

A capsule look at the recruits:

MEN

Harri Lloyd-Evans  |  6-0  |  Newport, South Wales, United Kingdom  |  Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw (Trevethin, Pontypool, Wales)  |  Club: Radyr Tennis Academy  |  Twitter: @harrilloydevans

Coach Josh Graetz: "Harri has played high level tennis throughout the UK. He has also represented South Wales in team tennis, which I think will help his transition into college tennis. He is a real competitor and I'm excited to have him join the program this fall.

Club:
* Ranked No. 58 in Britain U18
* Represented South Wales, both in men's and U18 competition
* Won numerous regional tennis competitions in men's singles and doubles
* Played doubles in Welsh premiership league

Jeanloup Auzias  |  5-7  |  Marseille, France  |  Littleton HS (Colorado)

Coach Josh Graetz: "Jeanloup is another international-turned-Colorado native. He spent his early life in France and then moved to Denver. I believe he will really thrive in a team environment.

Club:
* Two-star recruit
* Ranked fourth in Colorado and eighth in the region

High school:
* Four-year honor roll student
* IB diplomat candidate

WOMEN

Marie Cool  |  5-7  |  Bazel, Belgium |  Sint-Ludgardisschool (Antwerp)  |  LSU-Alexandria  |  Twitter: coolmarie00

Coach Josh Graetz: "Marie has played for one of the top NAIA schools in the country, so she knows what college tennis and success are all about. Throughout the recruiting process it was made clear she wanted to be Roadrunner, and as a coach that's exactly what you're looking for.

Before MSU Denver:
* Played for LSU-Alexandria program that finished the 2020 season ranked No. 8 in the NAIA coaches poll
* Won at No. 5 singles in an exhibition against Division I Eastern Illinois
* Earned Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor, April 1, 2019, after a super-set win at No. 1 doubles and a three-set win at No. 4 singles as the Generals defeated No. 5 William Carey (Miss.)
* Named to Red River Athletic Conference all-tournament team, 2019

Isabel Heras  |  5-8  |  Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands  |  Marianas HS  |  Dixie State

Coach Josh Graetz: "I've seen Isabel play a couple times, so I know the type of player I'm getting. She will immediately strengthen our singles and doubles lineups, and still has a lot of room to develop.

Before MSU Denver:
* Earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Co-Freshman of the Year in 2018-19 after going 9-5 at No. 3 singles and 9-6 at No. 1 doubles. Shared the award with MSU Denver's Helena Steenberg
* All-RMAC first team in doubles, 2018-19
* Played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in fall during the 2019-20 season, going 1-4 in singles and 4-2 in doubles

Lilly Stienemeier  |  5-9  |  Neuss, Germany  |  Marie-Curie-Gymnasium  |  Club: Tennisclub Blau Weiss  |  Twitter: Lilly_1402

Coach Josh Graetz: "Lilly will fit in really well here. She was a team captain for her club back in Germany and played high level team and individual tennis. She has easy power from the baseline off both wings, which will give her a real advantage at altitude tennis."

Club:
* DTB No. 134 (Juniors under 18)
* DTB No. 314 (all Juniors under 18)
