THORNTON, Colo. – MSU Denver returned to competition Monday with a three-player women's golf contingent competing at the season-opening Swan Memorial.
 
Winnie Shaw had two birdies in her final four holes and played even-par golf for her final eight holes while shooting a 13-over-par 85. She is tied for 24^th after the opening-day of the two-day, 63-player tournament.
 
Kika Dzoan is tied for 29^th after shooting 86, and Sydney Eye is tied for 37th at 89.
 
"I think overall the girls had much better second nines," MSU Denver coach Stef Ferguson said. "It was just super obvious we haven't competed since March. I'm happy with how they finished, but I could tell there were just a lot of mental mistakes and tentative swings."
 
The tournament concludes Tuesday.
