THORNTON, Colo. – Led by
Sydney Eye's third-round score of 6-over-par 78, the MSU Denver golf team maintained a 14
th-place finish at the Swan Memorial on Tuesday.
Eye sprinkled in four birdies during her round.
"Syd had a much better day today," MSU Denver coach Stef Ferguson said. "She played really solid. She had a few too many putts, but overall she was better."
The Roadrunners, after an opening-round 341, followed up with 331 in Monday's second round before scoring 330 on Tuesday to wrap up the 19-team even at the 6,038-yard Todd Creek Golf Club.
Winnie Shaw shot 81 Tuesday to finish tied for 24
th in the 107-player field with a total of 26-over 242. Eye tied for 47
th at 247,
Isabel Botero tied for 75
th at 258 and
Courtney Lawler tied for 84
th at 262.
"I saw some good things from all the girls today," Ferguson said. "Overall it wasn't the start we wanted – we just made too many big mistakes out there – but we will keep working, and the next one will be more refined for sure."
