THORNTON, Colo. – The MSU Denver women's golf team produced a steady round of 27-over-par 315 on Tuesday to finish ninth at the season-opening Swan Memorial.
The Roadrunners shot 323-307-315 at the two-day, three-round event at the 5,997-yard Todd Creek Golf Club.
"We saw some great things from all of the girls this week, and there are tons of big takeaways and a few things to improve on as well," MSU Denver coach Stef Ferguson said. "This group is capable of some awesome things, so I can't wait to see how the rest of the season goes."
Newcomer
Vaijayanti Bharkhada had an eagle-3 on the par-5 14
th hole – her eighth hole of the day – to drop to 1-below par for the round, and she eventually finished with a 3-over 75. Only eight players had a better third round than Bharkhada. That put her at 16-over 232 (80-77-75) for the tournament, which was good for a 19
th-place tie among the 16-team, 89-player field.
"V played well today and overall was just really steady," Ferguson said.
Sydney Eye shot 81 to finish tied for 34
th at 20-over 236, while
Winnie Shaw carded 78 to finish tied for 37
th at 22-over.
MSU Denver returns to action Sept. 26-27 at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz.
