TEMPE, Ariz. - The MSU Denver men's tennis team moved up one spot in the Division II national rankings to No. 35, but the women dropped out of the top 50.
Both teams were No. 36 last week in the computerized rankings by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The women dropped out despite wins over Fort Hays State (Kan.) and Division III St. Thomas (Texas). The men played only against St. Thomas and, like the women, won 7-0.
No individual Roadrunners are ranked, but two doubles teams are.
For the women,
Kinsey Fields and
Isabel Heras moved up three spots to No. 15 despite not playing, while for the men
David Kijak and
Juho Kantola dropped eight spots to No. 31 despite winning. Fields and Heras are 10-3 this season, while the Kijak/Kantola duo is 5-2.
