Kendra Parra has been named to the D2CCA's All-South Central Region second team in women's basketball.
Parra had a sensational season while earning All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference first team honors. Voting for the D2CCA All-South Central Region teams was by sports information directors from the RMAC and Lone Star Conferences.
Parra led the RMAC and ranked second in the region in scoring (18.3 points per game), led the RMAC and was second in the region in free throw percentage (87.6) and would have led the RMAC and region in 3-point percentage (40.3) but was six made 3s short of qualifying (52 of 129).
Parra is one of three players in Division II averaging at least 18.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game. She ranks third in Division II in free throws made (163) and eighth in the country in free throw attempts (186). She is Division II's active leader in career free throw percentage at 88.2 (270 of 306) and she had three streaks of 27 or more consecutive made free throws (including a school-record tying streak of 37).
She ranks 34
th in Division II in scoring average this season and 19
th in free throw percentage. Despite being a high scorer, she attempted only 12.3 field goals per game.
Parra ranks first in program history in career free throw percentage and is seventh in made free throws. She ranks 14th in program history with career average of 12.4 points per game and 16th with 920 points. She's also eighth in program history in 3-point percentage at 36.9 (100 of 271), seventh in made free throws and 10
th in made 3s.
This year she set the program's single-season record for made free throws, while her scoring average ranks and point total (531) each ranks third. Her free-throw percentage ranks seventh in a season (she had the fourth-best percentage last year) and her 3-point percentage ranks ninth. She scored in double figures in all but one game and recorded five double-doubles.
She was also named to the RMAC's All-Tournament team this season and was the league's Co-Freshman of the Year in 2020-21.
