DENVER –
Jesse Velders has been named to the 2025 Division II Preseason All-America Second Team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Velders was also named preseason All-South Central Region by the NCBWA.
The senior outfielder is coming off a stellar 2024 where he was named All-America by two publications, All-South Central Region by three publications, while earning first team All-RMAC. He has already been named 2025 Preseason All-America by D2 Baseball.
Velders transferred to MSU Denver before last season and put up incredible numbers to help the Roadrunners reach the RMAC Tournament for the seventh straight season. The Hilversum, Netherlands native led the conference with a .460 batting average, he was second in slugging percentage at .843, second in On Base Percentage at .558, sixth in runs scored with 63 and second in doubles with 22.
Among the Division II ranks, Velders was fifth in batting average, fifth in doubles per game (.048), fourth in slugging and fourth in OBP.
Velders and his Roadrunners squad will begin their 2025 season on the road in Edmond, Oklahoma for the First Pitch Invitational.
