@MSUDenverVB: AVCA and D2CCA Honor Roadrunners with All-America Teams

DENVER — Another milestone day for No. 10 MSU Denver volleyball arrived Wednesday as both the AVCA and D2CCA unveiled their Division II All-America teams, and the Roadrunners once again proved to be one of the nation's elite programs.

Three Roadrunners earned AVCA All-America recognition, while middle blocker Alyssa Boyte also collected D2CCA All-America honors, adding to one of the most decorated seasons in program history.

Boyte continued her postseason awards surge by being named to the D2CCA All-America Third Team, while also earning AVCA All-America Honorable Mention. Few players in the nation impacted both sides of the net the way Boyte did in 2025.

She has collected an impressive list of accolades:

  • D2CCA South Central Region Middle Blocker/Hitter of the Year
  • First Team All-Region (D2CCA & AVCA)
  • RMAC Defensive Player of the Year
  • RMAC Tournament MVP
  • NCAA South Central Region All-Tournament Team
  • RMAC Academic Player of the Year
  • RMAC First Team All-Academic

Boyte led one of the top defensive fronts in Division II, finished among national leaders in blocks, and anchored MSU Denver's 20-match winning streak heading into the Elite Eight.

Senior outside hitter Annika Helf received AVCA First Team All-America selection, adding to an extraordinary career and a sensational 2025 campaign. Helf has been a two-way force all season and one of Division II's most reliable scorers.

Her résumé this season includes:

  • D2CCA First Team All-Region
  • AVCA First Team All-Region
  • RMAC First Team
  • RMAC All-Tournament Team
  • NCAA South Central Region All-Tournament Team
  • RMAC First Team All-Academic

Her consistent scoring — including leading the Roadrunners in kills in every match of the regional tournament — has fueled MSU Denver's deep NCAA postseason push.

Freshman setter/right-side Karyna Werley added yet another national award to her breakout season, earning AVCA Second Team All-America honors. Earlier, she became both the RMAC Freshman of the Year and D2CCA South Central Region Freshman of the Year — the first Roadrunner freshman ever to sweep both awards.

Werley's all-around impact has been unmatched, highlighted by multiple triple-doubles and critical performances during MSU Denver's postseason run.

Her growing list of accolades includes:

  • All-RMAC First Team
  • AVCA First Team All-Region
  • D2CCA First Team All-Region
  • AVCA Second Team All-America

With Helf, Werley, and Boyte all earning top regional and national honors, MSU Denver stands among the most decorated teams in Division II this year. The Roadrunners are 29–3, have won 20 straight, captured their second consecutive RMAC Tournament Championship, and reached the NCAA Elite Eight for the first time in program history.

MSU Denver will play tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m. MT to take on Wingate in the Elite Eight of the Division 2 NCAA Tournament.
