Box Score DENVER – The MSU Denver women's soccer team continued its string of close contests on Saturday, playing Angelo State to a 0-0 draw at the Assembly Athletic Complex.
The Roadrunners controlled much of the play, finishing with a 7-2 edge in shots and holding 57 percent of the possession. Senior Monica Yoder led the attack with four shots, while Nicole Thompson and Isa Durkin each added attempts as MSU Denver pressed throughout the night.
Defensively, the Roadrunners were solid once again. Goalkeeper Kayla Caballero stopped the lone shot on goal she faced to earn the shutout, while the back line allowed just two total shots the entire match.
It was the third draw of the young season for MSU Denver, which moved to 0-1-3 overall following a season-opening loss and three straight stalemates. The Roadrunners have conceded just one goal across those four matches.
MSU Denver returns to action next week as it continues non-conference play before opening the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schedule later this month. They will head on the road against Point Loma, and Cal Poly Pomona before heading to Westminster to open RMAC play, followed up with another RMAC match against Colorado Mesa before they return home on Friday, October. 3 against New Mexico Highlands.
