GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The MSU Denver women's golf team made a strong push in the second round of the RJGA Shootout at Estrella, cutting 10 strokes off its opening score to finish eighth overall in a competitive 14-team field.
The Roadrunners shot a team score of 299 on Monday, following a 309 in the first round, for a 36-hole total of 608.
Leading the way was Neige Dunn, who carded a 1-over 73 in the final round to finish at 148 (75-73), good for 17th place individually.
Ainsley Stover matched Dunn's 73 on day two, climbing the leaderboard to finish tied for 22nd at 151 (78-73).
Izabella Pesicka posted back-to-back rounds of 76 to close at 152 and tie for 30th, while Lauren Mack improved by three shots in the second round for a 157 total (80-77, T-43). Rien Solodan rounded out the lineup with a 166 (81-85, T-62).
The Roadrunners' round of 299 was the fourth-best team score of the day, showcasing the squad's ability to bounce back and compete against a stacked field that included several nationally ranked programs.
MSU Denver will return to action Sunday and Monday, September 21-22 at the Wasatch Invitational in Utah.
