LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The MSU Denver Roadrunners women's golf team wrapped up competition Friday at the SMSU Classic, finishing third out of 10 teams after two rounds at the Wigwam Resort.
MSU Denver closed the tournament with a two-round total of 629 (+69), remaining near the top of the leaderboard throughout the event.
Junior Izabella Pesicka led the Roadrunners once again, finishing fifth overall after posting a 77 (+7) in the final round to bring her tournament total to +13. Pesicka recorded a steady round that included a birdie on the 17th hole as she maintained a position inside the top five.
Teammate Neige Dunn finished ninth overall with a 78 (+8) in the second round, ending the tournament at +15. Dunn highlighted her round with a birdie on the par-4 sixth hole and another strong stretch on the back nine to secure a top-10 finish.
Lauren Mack concluded the tournament 13th overall with a second-round 82 (+12), finishing at +20 for the event.
Jordyn Horsley made one of the biggest moves of the day for MSU Denver, carding a 35 on the back nine to finish with an 82 (+12) and place 22nd overall.
Rounding out the Roadrunners lineup, Sophia Honeyman finished 28th overall with a final-round 88 (+18).
The third-place team finish continues a strong stretch of play for MSU Denver early in the spring portion of the schedule, as the Roadrunners once again placed multiple golfers near the top of the leaderboard during the two-day event.
