@MSUDenverVB: Thank You, Coach Glenn: A Decade of Dominance for Roadrunners Volleyball

DENVER – For the past decade, excellence has defined the MSU Denver Roadrunners volleyball program. At the center of that rise was head coach Jenny Glenn, whose impact on the court, in the classroom and throughout the department will leave a lasting legacy.

After 10 seasons leading the Roadrunners, Glenn departs as one of the most successful coaches in program history, highlighted by the unforgettable 2025 season that culminated in the program's first-ever NCAA Division II National Championship.

Jenny GlennGlenn's tenure at MSU Denver was defined not only by victories, but by a culture of excellence. Over a decade at the helm, she compiled a remarkable 252-53 overall record and an extraordinary 152-10 mark in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. Her .826 overall winning percentage and .938 conference winning percentage both stand as the highest in program history.

"Jenny Glenn elevated MSU Denver Volleyball to a level that few programs in the country can match," said Director of Athletics Todd Thurman. "Her passion for student-athletes, commitment to academic     excellence and relentless pursuit of championships transformed this program. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done for MSU Denver, our student-athletes and our entire athletic department.   Jenny built something truly special here, and her legacy will continue to impact the Roadrunners for years to come."

The pinnacle of Glenn's career came in 2025, when she guided MSU Denver through a historic season that ultimately ended with the Roadrunners standing atop Division II volleyball.

After four consecutive seasons falling just short in the NCAA South Central Regional final, Glenn's team broke through and surged all the way to the national title. MSU Denver finished 32-3 overall and 13-1 in RMAC play, capturing the RMAC regular-season title, the RMAC Tournament championship, the NCAA South Central Regional crown and the NCAA Division II National Championship.                        Jenny Glenn 2016

The achievement carried national significance. It marked the first volleyball national championship ever won by a Colorado school and the first by any RMAC volleyball program. The title was also the first national championship for MSU Denver Athletics since 2006 and the fifth in department history.

The Roadrunners' championship run rewrote the program record book. MSU Denver set a single-season program record with 32 victories, strung together a remarkable 30 consecutive set wins during the heart of the season and closed the year on a 23-match winning streak.

Success under Glenn was never limited to a single season. In her first year in 2016, she replaced legendary coach Debbie Hendricks and immediately captured an RMAC regular-season title while going a perfect 18-0 in conference play. It was a sign of what was to come.

Glenn would go on to win six RMAC regular-season championships, including five consecutive titles, while also capturing three RMAC Tournament championships. Her teams averaged just one RMAC loss per season over her decade-long tenure and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in every season she coached with the exception of the 2020 COVID season.

Her excellence on the sidelines was recognized throughout the region and nationally. Glenn was a four-time RMAC Coach of the Year and a three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association South Central Region Coach of the Year. She was also honored as the 2025 Colorado Sportswomen College Coach of the Year, the 2021 Colorado Sportswomen College Coach of the Year and the 2021 Mile High Sports College Coach of the Year.

While championships and awards defined the program's competitive success, Glenn consistently emphasized the importance of academic achievement and personal growth.

Her teams excelled in the classroom throughout her tenure. Glenn coached six RMAC Academic Players of the Year and three RMAC Summit Award winners, while producing 24 All-RMAC First Team Academic selections and 90 RMAC Academic Honor Roll honorees. Her teams also held the highest team GPA among MSU Denver athletic programs multiple times during her decade leading the Roadrunners.

Glenn also mentored some of the most decorated players in program history, including three RMAC Players of the Year, one RMAC Defensive Player of the Year, one RMAC Freshman of the Year, one AVCA Region Player of the Year and three D2CCA Region Players of the Year. Her athletes earned 65 All-RMAC selections and 18 AVCA All-America honors during her tenure.

For Glenn, the program's success was always rooted in the people who built it along the way.

Jenny Glenn smiles near the volleyball net "MSU Denver is a special place and the Volleyball program is near to my heart," Glenn said. "I have loved leading a program with such rich tradition and strong passion over the last 10 years. I have had the honor of walking alongside so many amazing student athletes and assistant coaches who have taught me and grown me into the coach that I am today. I have had the pleasure of working with administrators who have a passion for excellence and are willing to work hard to make things happen. I want to personally thank Todd Thurman and Janine Davidson for their support and enthusiasm. I also want to thank the current team and all the alumni who have gone before them for their investment in Roadrunners Volleyball over the years. I look forward to watching the program continue to rise to new heights. Once a Roadrunner, Always a Roadrunner!"

Over the last 10 seasons, Glenn transformed MSU Denver Volleyball into one of the premier programs in NCAA Division II — a program built on championships, academic excellence and a culture that will endure long after her departure.

And while her next chapter awaits, the impact she leaves behind in Denver will always remain part of the Roadrunners' story.
