DENVER — Monday afternoon brought recognition for the classroom achievements of MSU Denver Outdoor Track & Field as 21 Roadrunners were named to the RMAC Academic Honor Roll.
To qualify for the RMAC Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher while meeting conference participation requirements.
The Roadrunner women placed eight student-athletes on the honor roll, highlighted by a group that helped lead MSU Denver to its highest finish at the RMAC Outdoor Championships since 2013.
Representing the women's team were senior Abigail Read (Mechanical Engineering Technology), senior Breauna Sorensen (Elementary Education), senior Brooklynn Jones (Psychology), junior Ellie Shaw (Mechanical Engineering Technology), senior Jaelyn Korbe (Marketing), senior Jessica Hobson (Exercise Science), graduate student Paige Tack and senior Payton Rusk (Political Science).
The men's team saw 13 Roadrunners earn Academic Honor Roll distinction after helping MSU Denver post an eighth-place finish at the RMAC Outdoor Championships.
The honorees included sophomore Rayen Ben Haled (Computer Science), sophomore Owen Clarke (Marketing), senior Jonathan Duran (Hospitality Leadership), senior Jordan Duran (Hospitality Leadership), senior Charles Geisler (Cybersecurity), junior Kenny Greene (Criminal Justice and Criminology), junior Aden Guenther (Biology), sophomore De'Aundrae Harris (Early Childhood Education), junior Darren Hayden (Music), junior Sean Pecenka (Mechanical Engineering Technology), senior Brandon Simpson (Biology), senior Jacob Simpson (Finance) and junior Kevin Tashie (Finance).
The 21 Academic Honor Roll selections underscore the continued commitment to excellence in both competition and the classroom for the MSU Denver track and field programs.
Following a season that featured conference podium finishes, a program record, multiple All-RMAC performers and the women's highest RMAC Championships finish in more than a decade, the Roadrunners continued to demonstrate that success extends well beyond the track.
