DENVER — The MSU Denver women's soccer team was picked to finish seventh in the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the league announced Thursday afternoon with the release of its preseason coaches' poll.
The Roadrunners received 71 points in the poll, which was led by two-time defending RMAC champion Colorado School of Mines with 134 points. Colorado Mesa followed closely in second with 132 points, while UCCS finished third with 131. Fort Lewis (109) and Regis (98) rounded out the top five, with Westminster sixth at 81 points.
MSU Denver is set to begin its 2026 campaign Thursday, Aug. 27, when the Roadrunners travel to San Angelo, Texas, to face Angelo State.
The RMAC preseason poll features 13 teams, with Colorado Christian, CSU Pueblo, Western Colorado, Adams State, Black Hills State and New Mexico Highlands rounding out the field behind the Roadrunners.
Colorado School of Mines enters the season as the preseason favorite after capturing its second consecutive RMAC championship in 2025. The Orediggers finished last season 14-2-5 overall and 9-1-2 in conference play before advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship.
The Roadrunners' season opener against Angelo State is the first of a schedule that will see MSU Denver begin its pursuit of a successful 2026 campaign. Head coach Katie Hooker will look to improve the team's record in her second year leading the program.
